The dorm in Mesilau
Our steamboat dinner
Wild boar served fresh!
And life has never been better after my successful summit attempt at Mount K (4,095metres) with my wife and brother in-law.
Day 1 started with a trip to Kinabalu Park. Frank, our driver came on time to pick us up at our hotel in KK Time Square, which is also the new location of the New Straits Times Sabah office.
It took us about two hours to get from the city centre to Kinabalu Park.
But before that, we made a pit stop at a roadside stall and savoured some smoked wild boar. At RM5 a pop, its not bad.
Later, we had lunch at a place which I could hardly remember because the food sucks and the it was a blatant rip-off, well, at least our driver had his free meal.

At Kinabalu Park, we were given the bad news: no stay at the park and summit trail via Timpohon which is said to be pretty decent.
So, we were ferried out of the Park HQ to Mesilau Nature Resort which is located about an hour's drive.
We checked-in and got settled before heading off for a good dinner.
Called it a night after a belly full of steamboat.
